Eames Office FurnitureEstablished in 1941 by Charles and Ray Eames, the Eames Office made significant contributions to the design world, and today, they are one of the most famous office furniture designers.
A handful of Charles and Ray Eames furniture designs, such as the Lounge Chair and Ottoman or the Eames Moulded Fiberglass Shell Side Chair, are found everywhere in upmarket interiors. Some are a must-have, especially in airport executive lounges’ interior design. Unfortunately, we have never had the opportunity to buy a lounge chair at the correct price.
Charles and Ray Eames spent forty years creating office furniture in the likes of tables, chairs, room dividers, stools, and more for public and residential spaces.
The Lounge Chair, created by Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950s, was designed to combine an elegant appearance with ultimate comfort. As Charles Eames himself once put it, this chair has, “the warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman’s glove.”
The Lounge Chair is now produced by Vitra (a Herman Miller Company) using virtually the same methods ever since and is now recognised as a great classic of twentieth-century furniture design. In the United States, the Lounge Chair is marketed under the Herman Miller Brand.
